PCPs establish a relationship with you over time and will be able to consider your preferences, beliefs and medical history while giving you medical advice.
When should I see a specialist instead of my primary care provider?
It can be difficult to know when to see a specialist. When experiencing a health issue, your primary care provider will know when it is time to refer you to a specialist, so you won’t have to navigate that decision on your own. Specialists are doctors who specialize in specific areas and who have in-depth knowledge of their specialty. Specialists include Allergists, Cardiologists, Dermatologists and many more.
Do I have to go in person to my PCP?
Apex Health has both in-person PCP appointments and telehealth appointments. Choose what is most comfortable and convenient for you! Telehealth appointments are video calls with a certified medical professional that can be taken from your home. Some people prefer to be seen in person, but telehealth appointments are great for those who are sick and can’t leave their homes, those with mobility issues and those with limited transportation. Since Apex Health provides both telehealth and in-person care, you are free to adjust your appointment type depending on your circumstance.
